  1. awesome post and beautiful images.

Thanks for sharing these photos. No doubt there will be many who will benefit by HH Dalai Lama’s teachings.

I find the mandala construction a beautiful piece of artwork – shame it has to be ‘destroyed’ afterwards (although I appreciate the meaning of this).

(I still have the tiny tissue paper ‘parcel’ of mixed sand from the mandala made by the Gyoto Monks at Melbourne museum many years ago).

I’d love to see a close-up photo of the Tibetan costume in the bottom left hand corner photo – if you can get one (having studied fashion designing & textile design at tertiary level in my youth).

    • Ooh I wonder if I can get some of this sand…it’s also done by Gyuto monks but no doubt different ones 🙂

I’ll try and get some better photos of the traditional costumes – I think those ones were Mongolian rather than Tibetan but not sure…

  3. So nice for you. 🙂

  4. This is fantastic, Annie! 😀

  5. I love the sand mandala and its symbolism. I had the honor of attending the ceremony of the dismantling of one years ago. It was a beautiful event. Very special.
