I know I’ve posted a lot about His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Australia without really saying much.
It was overwhelming physically and emotionally and after months of preparation – hard to put the range of feelings into words.
I’ve been holding this daily prompt in the inbox though ‘Describe a moment of kindness, between you and someone else — loved one or complete stranger’ because I want to write one more thing that came out of being with him.
A week ago today, Sunday afternoon, His Holiness gave a public talk in Sydney. Along with workmates a few family members joined me to listen. Before the Dalai Lama took the stage we were treated to a song, and two short talks.
Jono Fisher from Wake Up Sydney told the 10,000 smilers in the crowd about his current project. His volunteers were giving out Kindness Cards in the foyer and his request was that we use them, with an anonymous act of kindness, and then email him about it. He is putting a book together that he’ll present to the Dalai Lama when ready.
The next day youngest asked me to take her to a florist. She selected two bunches of flowers and filled out delivery details – her GI specialist; and nurses in the infusion centre would have received them with kindness cards the next morning.
Is that not a lovely moment of kindness 🙂
You can get kindness cards from Jono and carry it forward if you like…
